After two months of running in the very humid indoors, it’s time that we pack up and move outside. In the past two months, we have added three records into the books. Brian Hiltebrand (Fr), set two freshmen indoor records in the 800m and the 1600m! Brian ran 800m in 2:05.20* and 1600m in 4:38.53. Just this past weekend, Will Houser (Jr) set the varsity 800m indoor record with his 1:59.48 at Illinois Top Times! Right now, 89% of the team is performing better than last year and many runners have already achieved their goals for the year.
We have only seven weeks until outdoor conference at Niles North and less than eight weeks until the sectional meet at Niles West. Every week is going to move by fast so it is important to stay on top of things! Remember to work hard on hard days and take recovery days seriously. Running is a cycle and everyday is important.
