Healthy Kids Running Series: Volunteer Opportunity

Posted on April 16, 2021 by Cody Slutzky

Titans! We need your help! Sophomore Henry Lato has stepped up to help organize a youth running program in the Glenview community. He is currently looking for volunteers to help run the project. Below is the information he provided for the event.

"I stepped up to be the community coordinator for the Healthy Kids Running Series Glenview this year. Healthy Kids Running Series is a five-week running program in the spring and fall for kids Pre-K through 8th grade. Each HKRS Series takes place once a week and offers age-appropriate running events including the 50 & 75-yard dashes, the 1/4 mile, the 1/2 mile, and the 1-mile run. Kids compete each week for a chance to earn points. At the end of the Series, the boys and girls who accumulate the most points in their respective distances are awarded trophies. The events will take place at Johns Park on Sundays at 3 pm with the first race being on May 2nd. We are in need of some volunteers to help work the events and I thought I would reach out to see if any of the XC/track guys might be interested in helping out."
