For the first time in quite a while, we have received excellent news in the realm of high school sports. On July 29th, the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) announced its plan for the Fall 2020 Athletic Season. Sports deemed ‘lower risk’ will be able to compete in an abbreviated fall season starting August 10th and ending on October 17th. The list of lower risk sports includes cross country, golf, girls tennis, and girls swimming and diving. All medium risk and higher risk fall sports- this list includes football, soccer, lacrosse, and volleyball-  will be postponed until the make-up season scheduled for February 15th to May 1st.

With this decision, lower risk sports will be able to compete at Levels 1, 2, and 3, as defined below:

More information regarding the schedule for the upcoming cross country is yet to be released. Updates will follow. In the meantime, we are happy to see that we will, in fact, have a 2020 cross country season.

Happy Running!
