Summer Conditioning Camps

Posted on June 13, 2020 by Cody Slutzky

Glenbrook South High School and Glenbrook High School District 225 have announced plans to begin summer conditioning camps next Monday, June 15th. These plans are in accordance with Stage 1 of the IHSA Return to Play Guidelines. These conditioning camps are not sport-specific, and will allow for basic conditioning applicable to all fall sports.

“The GBS Athletic Department will be offering a two-week Agility, Speed and Strength Camp for its student-athletes. The Camp will follow all training and safety guidelines provided by the IHSA, State of Illinois and Illinois State Board of Education.

The program will be open to all Glenbrook students enrolled in the 20-21 school year in Grades 9-12 regardless of sport. Each group of 10 or fewer students will be participating under the direction of one instructor in an appropriately spaced area in our stadiums. The purpose of the camp is to safely return athletes from a period of inactivity using a graduated program.  This program is designed by strength and conditioning professionals to help students prepare for the anticipated return of sport specific camps in July.

The camp will be conducted by coaching staffs under the supervision of the Athletic Directors.  The camp will run from Monday, June 15th through Thursday, June 25th. Six one-hour time slots will be available for the students to choose from, and each session will be limited to 45 athletes. Athletic Trainers will be actively engaged in monitoring both the participants and coaches. “

Registration is available at the link below. The cost is $70, and the sessions are as follows:
