Posted on June 7, 2020 by James Kurtzweil

On Friday, June 5th, the IHSA released Stage 1 of the IHSA Return to Play Guidelines, guidelines developed by the IHSA Sports Medicine Advisory Committee and approved by the Illinois Department of Public Health. These guidelines allow for pre-determined groups of 10 or less, social distancing to take place, and a daily log to be kept on participating athletes. The full release of Stage 1 of Return to Play can be found at the button below. At this time, Glenbrook High School District 225 and Glenbrook South have yet to permit athletic conditioning and the campus remains closed.

Summer Running camp remains TBA until the District has more information.

On Monday, June 8th, OPTIONAL, Student-Organized meetups will be held in the Cook County Forest Preserves. These have been organized solely by the athletes. Information has been communicated to the athletes through the GroupMe messaging platform.

All athletes that join on these runs, as well as their legal guardians, understand the hazards of the Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), previously referred to by its provisional name 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV), which causes the disease Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19); and are familiar with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines regarding COVID-19. All participants are participating at their own risk.
