Congratulations to Mason Cornwell! With an impressive vault of 14'2", Cornwell has soared to #2 on the Glenbrook South All-Time Pole Vault list. His remarkable performance has also earned him a spot at the prestigious Windy City Pole Vault Summit, set to take place at Rolling Meadows High School on March 8.
It was a standout day for the Titans, with eight of the team’s 10 pole vaulters either setting new personal records or matching their best heights.
Big shout out to Matthew Vergamini who set the field house record in the 55 High Hurdles with a time of 7.4! Way to go!
Jump Event Highlights
In the high jump, senior Anthony Nassif secured second place for this meet with a clearance of 6 feet.
Sophomore Tim Noh led the Titans in the triple jump with a mark of 35'11", while freshman Jay Jay Crisp posted GBS’s best long jump of the meet at 18'3".
Distance & Relay Performances
The distance squad had another strong showing, led by Cole Branstrom (2:38) and Spencer Rudolph (2:43) in the 1000m run. Rudolph also clocked 4:42.3 in the 1600m, followed by Owen Wu at 4:51.7.
The all-sophomore 4x800m relay team of Gavin Phair, Matthew McGargill, Alex Schrauth, and Marco Smelan delivered an impressive performance, finishing 4th with a time of 9:37.4.
Field Events & Upcoming Meet
In the shot put, Noah Babcock placed second, while teammate Tyler Kim took third.
The Titans will be back in action this Saturday as they host the Hasenstein Relays.
