Last Saturday, the Titans competed in their first meet of the outdoor track season at the Mikias Tibebu Invite, hosted by Schaumburg High School. At the end of the day, the Titans placed 2nd at the varsity level, and 3rd at the frosh/soph level.
Saturday was filled with a plethora of fantastic efforts from the Titans, with countless PRs and even some historical performances. 3200 meter runners Andy Ordway and Ryan Taylor both entered the all-time GBS Top-10 List, with Ryan breaking the sophomore record for the event. Also entering the Top-10 List is the duo of Patrick Kuprewicz and Conor Beach for the 110 meter high hurdles and 200 meter dash, respectively.
First place efforts on Saturday came from Tyrone Cotton in the high jump, Rohan Thota in the pole vault, Braden Mendoza in the frosh/soph triple jump, Jack Heggie in the frosh/soph shot put, and the quartet of Andrew Spilios, Tyrone Cotton, Thomas Zambianchi, and Conor Beach in the 4x100 meter relay.
Once again, special thanks to Scott Lewis for amazing photography at this meet.
Roll South!
