On Saturday, February 26th, the Titans hosted the annual Titan Indoor Relays against three teams, including District 225 rival, Glenbrook North. It was a great day of racing, with some great times ran all around, including multiple new records.
The 4x800 meter relay opened the day up with Michael Jerva (Sr) leading the way, followed by Lucas Houser (Sr), James Hiltebrand (Jr), and Brian Hiltebrand (Sr). Their goal before the race even began was evident: the varsity indoor 4x800 record of 8:16. Michael ran a great 2:04 to jump the team out into first place, and they would not look back throughout. Luke and James followed next as they both set their best times ever at 2:05 and 2:07 respectively. Then, to smash through the record, Brian lit the field house on fire by running a clear season best of 1:57. They broke a record that has stood for 29 years in the process with a total time of 8:14.
